Google Adwords

Printer-Friendly Format

Google Adwords is the most popular Pay-Per-Click advertising medium on the internet. It will likely become an invaluable tool to assist you in many different ways as you learn about the many facets of the internet.

After you sign up (free) with Google, you can setup your three line ad and target it for a specific geographical area, provide certain keywords for the ad and establish daily expense limits. When a visitor to Google searches on your keyword, your ad will be displayed on the right side of the search results screen as well as on keyword targeted content sites around the internet.

Each time a website visitor clicks on your ad, they are routed to your destination site, whether that is an Authority Site, an Affiliate 'Landing Page', or any URL that you desire. In exchange for this traffic, Google charges a PPC fee (usually a few cents) to your account. Adwords is a great way to test a market niche or sales campaign without spending a lot of money. Many companies base their entire traffic generation on a Google Adwords campaign.

Setting up a Google Adwords Campaign is very simple. This video will walk you thru a sample ad setup:

Whenever you setup an Adwords Campaign, you should setup at least 2 different ads with wording variations. After a while, check to see which is doing better and replace the poorer performing one with a newly created ad. This process is called 'Split testing' and you will be amazed at the tremendous difference a single word or two can make in attracting traffic.

It would be very inexpensive for you to try out Google Adwords. Why not try setting up a test Adwords ad and run it for a day or so to test its traffic generation capability? It will only cost you about $5 and a little time, but you will quickly see the power of Google Adwords.
